In 2000, a business analyst in web marketing was asked by his executives how the company’s website was performing and the biggest challenge in converting visitors into customers. These questions were Wayne’s initiation into web analytics, and he’s been captivated by the subject ever since.
Wayne’s undergraduate education was in music which he admits is an unlikely start for an analyst; however, he credits his arts education as the reason for his unorthodox approach to business and his strange love for applied statistics. Wayne began his career with an educational software company, but quickly transitioned into e-commerce. He has worked for companies spanning insurance and financial services to advertising to media. For nearly a decade, Wayne has lead and participated in corporate and industry web analytics initiatives, always championing the cause of data-based business decisions and actionable analytics.
Wayne holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Texas, a graduate certification in business intelligence, and is completing his Masters of Science in Management with the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.
