From the time he created his first GeoCities page from his dorm room in 1996, Cory Reed knew that the web would dominate his professional life. He went on to run a small web design firm for several years before moving into data analytics and systems management. While he always had a passive interest in the number of “hits” his web sites received, Cory didn’t fall into web analytics until he joined Belo, a large print, TV, and online media company, in 2004. At Belo, he implemented Omniture SiteCatalyst on more than 25 sites, and evangelized the power of web analytics to form the foundation of a data driven culture at the company. In 2006, Cory joined Ciena as Web Marketing Manager, where he is responsible for web analytics and search marketing programs at the company.
Cory holds a BA in Psychology from Texas Tech University and an MBA in Economics from The University of Texas at Arlington. He resides with his wife in Baltimore, MD.
